Context
The Portuguese textile sector is facing a period of growing uncertainty. Geopolitical changes, new trade agreements — namely between the European Union and India, and between the European Union and Mercosur — as well as instability across supply chains, are creating new risks, but also new opportunities for SMEs in the sector.
Against this backdrop, how can your company anticipate impacts, reduce vulnerabilities, and strengthen its ability to respond?
As part of the European project RISE-SME, CITEVE and INESC TEC are organising this workshop with the aim of supporting textile SMEs in identifying critical dependencies, anticipating risks, and finding practical solutions to strengthen the resilience of their value chains. The event also aims to contribute to the identification of technological needs that can help companies in the sector improve their capacity to anticipate, adapt, and respond in situations of disruption.
Throughout the morning, specialists and industry leaders will share perspectives on the current international context and discuss how companies can respond with greater preparedness, visibility, and adaptability. The session will also include a participatory co-creation activity focused on identifying concrete challenges and solutions applicable to business reality.
By the end of the event, participants will leave with a clearer understanding of the risks that may affect their business and with practical ideas to strengthen collaboration with customers, suppliers, and other partners across the value chain.

About the RISE-SME project
RISE-SME is a European project that helps SMEs prepare for supply chain challenges by making them more flexible, agile, and resilient. Through the development of models and methodologies applicable to different industrial ecosystems, including the textile sector, the project supports companies in identifying disruptions, anticipating risks, and exploring technological opportunities. At the same time, it promotes the adoption of advanced technologies and stronger collaboration between traditional SMEs and tech SMEs, contributing to more robust and future-ready value chains.
